    BONNAROO 09

Anyone going? It's pretty much the closest thing to Woodstock...every drug you can imagine, music all the time, and just an awesome experience. I remember last yr just about every hour, people walked around, WHO NEEDS BUDS, HASH, COKE, E, PAPERS, etc ALL the time, was crazy. NIN will be there this year who are one of my favorites. Bruce Springsteen, and tons of other bands. Can't wait!!:hippy::jointsmile:

Wish I could, lost the job and don't have the money to make it happen this year. I'm still hoping to catch a Dead show or two though. My Phish ticket requests all got denied (which considering I need the money I'm reasonably happy about).

I'm pretty tempted to go this year, they've got a bunch of good acts. The drive is only like 8 or 9 hours so its not too terribly bad.

No way in hell I'd pay that much money to be stuck in 100+ degree heat with a bunch of posers waiting for their 1st Phish shows.

MUCH better festivals out there and at only a fraction of the price/population.

    SO TRUE!!
i went when radiohead was the headliner and i can honestly say i will NEVER be back.

first off we had to drive 10 hours, so i was EXTREAMLY tired from the car ride, and when you get down there its the first night of the fest so you have to party...then i tried to sleep in the next morning but was FORCED out of my tent about 8am by the intense heat. It was so dam hot it was hard to even drink alchy tell the sun went down.

Here is a list of other Hippy jam-band//drug fest's id go to BEFORE i go to bonnaroo
    1) 10,000 lakes festival
    2) Rothburry
    3) ANY show at red rocks!!
    4) Summer camp
    5) Waukarusa
    6) Harvest fest (in minnesota put on by wookiefoot)
    7) Fat fest (in minnesota put on by fat maw-roony)
    8) Burning man (Its all the drugs + the camping + all the crazy ppl - all the music)

Bonnaroo is WAY over priced for all the late night shit dj acts they use. only way id pay that price again is if there where over 10 bands playing that are all capable of headlining a fest....a HOLE fest of headliners! thats what im talkin about...

ehhh i went that same year and the heat wasn't that bad. I'm from the south so I guess I'm use to that type of weather but i go to jazz fest every year and its twice as hot in New Orleans. I'd like to go to some of those fests too but they are way to far away from me... It would cost way more for me to go to one of those shows went counting in all the other expenses. There are a ton of bands i'd like to see this year:

Bruce Springsteen (why not? he's the boss!)
    Wilco
    Al Green
Nine Inch Nails (their live show is sweet)
    The Mars Volta
    Tv On the Radio
    Gov't Mule
    Andrew Bird
    The Decemberists
    Bela Fleck
    Galactic
    Coheed and Cambria
    Rodrigo y Gabriella
    Of Montreal
    David Grisman
    Kaki King
    Portugal. The Man.

those are just the bands I already listen to, there are probably a few on that list that are good and I've never even heard of them.
