i for one would never give ya bad advice
if i dont know i say so,if i do i say what i know for fact
i even will suggest things to try at times

and some folks just say anything

i dont recommend removing the leaf at all if you can help it
they need them ,some wont hurt, but all being removed sure will
tucking them out the way sounds like sound advice

well i must say that trimming the fan leaves that have started already looking yellow isn't that bad.....i am about to finish week 6 12/12 in 3 days...to day i cut two fan leaves from two different plants from their lower parts.....bud production has took of the past few days....the glands are swollen and the hairs are 50 white 50 orange....first one to go will be ''Scarlett'' at week number 7....in 10 days from today.....
