Nope, doesn't matter. You can stay 24/7 for the whole veg period. Some like to give it the dark period just as nature does (and also to save electricity), but never been proven to be better either way (or any other combination in between, for that matter)

LOL... I use something similar to MG... but watch out with that moisture control soil because it will stay wet for a long time. Can I recommend one of those moisture meters, about an 8 in. probe you can put in your soil to check its moisture?

I only say this, because I tried using one of those moisture control soils and it SUCKED, impossible to flush because the soil wanted to keep all the water. I guess if you have perlite (I didn't) it won't be as bad, but something to watch out for. Next time you buy soil, maybe go for the standard MG...

Just my :twocents:  Good Luck!

I'm guessing you've never compared root growth.
Subjective, of course, but in my garden, a visible difference between 18/6 and 24/0. After a couple of runs doing it both ways, I'll always use the 18/6 scnedule.
Perhaps different story for auto-flowering strains, but I've never grown any of 'em.

I've done with 20/4 and 24/0, and didn't notice a difference in the root ball. You are probably right, but saying that you MUST switch the lights to 18/6 is not true... that's all I wanted to point out. I'm still testing the different methods myself:jointsmile:

Yup. Works both ways, and solves some problems, in some situations. (light leak problems, heating/cooling arrangements, sharing your closet with your plants...) Not something I'd argue over, just throwing-out some personal observations.

    LOL... Ok. Sorry.

Saying he should switch is WRONG. He can switch to 18/6 or 20/4, or whatever he thinks is best... Probably best to test out the different methods yourself, and see which you like best.

Like Rusty said, not worth arguing about.

dude, saying he should and can is damn near the same thing. he obviously did what he wanted to. and there is nothing WRONG about stating my opinion on the subject. so drop it.
