lighting schedules are a source of constant disagreement, and always will be :wtf: ... I am of the school of thought, plants have processes that are active during the dark hours ... I am no scientist, I just trust the Creator to know what He's doing (and, he created Night, too) ... I've used 18/6, and 12/12 for over 40 years, with good results ... experimenting with other light schedules, hasn't show me any reason to change, 'yet' ... however, I recently read some intriguing theories by DJ Shorts, the famed breeder ... DJ, like myself, laments the loss of landrace sativas, due to hybridizing over the years, and has a plan to 'bring out' more sativa characteristics, from his plants ... he theorizes, matching light schedules to the geographic locations of the original sativa source ... did it work ?, I dunno, but I'm gonna try to find out ...
