    CAL-MAX

Is it pretty much the same as CALMAG Plus?

The mixing directions says 5-8 ml every 4 liters. I assume that's for regular usuage with city water, but what about for distilled?

My plants have been getting the reservoir changed every week with distilled water, DNF Bloom A+B, DNF Gold, DNF Bloom Fortifier and DNF CARBOLOGIC for the past 3 weeks. I sense a deficiency...

I foliar spray with DNF Gold and DNF enhance twice a week.

    Thanks.

    CAL-MAX

    I haven't heard of 'Cal-Max', but I use 'Cal-Mag+', at 10ml/gallon, for RO/distilled water, or 5ml/gallon, for typical tapwater ... it's the rule-of-thumb I've used, and had good luck with ... :smokin:

So I added three 5-gallon jugs of distilled water

    285 ml each of DNF Bloom A & B

10 grams of DNF Bloom Fortifier

    18 grams of DNF CarboLogic

    170 ml of DNF Gold

    80 ml of CAL-MAX

    ph UP to 5.5

and I get a TDS of 700-850, and that's at full strength; but the products I assume were originally formulated for city water usage. I'll adjust the PH every 3-4 days and foilar spray twice a week with DNF Enhance & DNF Gold.

I'll change the res on day 7 and start the process back up again. The TDS never goes past 1200 in this time frame. Is this good or bad? What's the limit?

So the general rule is you should have a Cal/Mag mag ppm of 300 per gallon. So with tap water or with reverse os, pour a gallon and add your Cal/Mag product to bring the ppm to that level and make a note of how much you added (mine is 3 to 4 mL per gallon).

Now everytime you mix your nutes you know how much to add without measuring.

Thanks, I'll try putting 20 ml of it in a jug of my distilled (5 gallon) and see if I get the same outcome as yours.

I'll post again should any problem arise.

Hey man, where did you get CAL-MAX ? I did a google on it and this is what I get.

CalMax is laboratory-made Calcium Gluconate together with Magnesium and Vitamin C in an effervescent powder form. This product misses the mark for bone growth because it contains none of the other clinically proven bone building ingredients such as trace minerals, vitamin D, Vitamin K2, and Strontium. Also, the calcium form does not compare to organic, whole food, plant-sourced AlgaeCal.

Doesn't sound like hydro stuff and I have never heard of it.

Cool man it is exactly the same thing. 2.0.0. Use as you guys talked about from the instructions. Nice to know there is another source.

OH, the limit on your tds is just enough to get a small leaf tip burn and hold it there. Some strains can take more than others. Just barely back off if you think the tips burn is a little much. That's maxxed out.

What kind of water are you adjusting? My nutrients are formulated for water with an EC of 300, which is 210 ppm; I have to aim for that I guess.
