Because despite stereotypical stoners merely doing what they would do whether or not they smoke pot, it gives plenty of fuel for the government's propoganda..The government thinks most people don't realize that it has nothing to do with smoking pot. A lazy person is lazy, whether or not they smoke pot..Most people don't know that the responsible person working next to them at work smokes pot, because that person isn't going to key them in on the fact that they break the law to relax, and the government relies on people being afraid to tell people they smoke pot. I on the other hand am quite open about it, as are some younger people..I'm not ashamed, however the majority of pot smokers are not willing to let anyone know what they do on their time..
