my first grow

hey guys, me and my buddy are thinking about growing out own weed.

we are ordering some sort of hydroponic thing off the internet, like this one

PC Grow Box; Complete System for Growing 1-3 Plants in a Computer Case

the question i have is, how much will the plants smell while growing. i will be growing it at home without my parents knowing, but my mom knows what herb smells like, so am i gonna get busted. and if you can smell the plants growing, what can i do to cover up the smell.

They're gonna stink! lol!

You can use Carbon filters to get rid of the smells apparently or hook an extractor fan up to go outside or both? You will need a pretty sealed box though.

Just looked at the thingy you wanted to buy and that comes with:

Jeez that thing is expensive!

Have you got any reasonably dense woodland/forest around you anywhere? always a good option in my opinion.
If your folks know what it smells like, and they don't approve, its rather risky, If she goes into your room and finds the "computer fan" working away when your not in, she may:
1. turn it off
2. turn the monitor on to no avail and sus it out.

hmm.. short answer is...

-depends on the strain. some get REALLY skunky

-carbon filter to combat smell.
