'rapidrooters', are available at any good nursery, or hydroponic store ... they are about an inch in diameter, and made of compressed bark ... they have no pH problems, and retain/lose water perfectly ... a bag of 50 costs about $13 here in norCal, and are perfect for both seedstarting, and cloning ... place a DRY seed into the plug, and place into a bubble-cloner, etc (rubbermaid tub with holes cut in lid for plugs, bubbler underneath, simple) ... do the Search here for 'bubble-cloner', I made a couple of 'how-to-build' threads here ... I won't recommend the 'wet paper-towel method', that has killed more viable seeds than anything I can think of ... good luck :smokin:
