this is a PATHETIC statistic !!!

I just received this notice from MPP (Marijuana Policy Project), confirming my donations ... read the statistic about how many people actually donate money ... PATHETIC !!! ...

    THIS, from my e-mail Inbox:

    ********************

" Thank you for your monthly contribution to the Marijuana Policy Project.

Even though national opinion polling shows that more than 80 million American adults believe that marijuana should be made "legal" for adult use, only 25,000 people have ever donated to MPP. Thank you so much for being one of the few with the initiative, foresight, and personal commitment to actually do something about our country's failed marijuana policies.

Your donation will help fund our efforts to end marijuana prohibition. When â?? not if â?? the battle is won, it will be because of the financial support from members like you.

Once again, thank you for your gift.

    Sincerely,

    Salem Pearce
    Director of Membership
    Marijuana Policy Project "

    ****************************

25,000 contributors ?, that is pathetic ... drag your moth-infested wallets out of your pockets, you so-called marijuana supporters, and send in some money ! ... hell, if everybody just sent in a lousy $10, we could BUY the fucking DEA ! ... if you can't afford $10 for a truly effective marijuana activist organization, you're too broke to be burning electricity, or owning a computer, or buying fertilizer and soil ... DONATE !!!

damn, I love this rabble-rousing stuff

as much as i support the legalization. where does that money even go?

i dont need to pay anyone to make my voice heard, i choose to ignore these bullshit laws my country has. the real way to change things is to just ignore the laws until police priorities change

Damn bro, you really know how to stick a guy in the neck and wake 'em up. I dig it!! I'll be honest, I tend to get a little tunnel vision when soo many hard core issues hit me at once, same shit as many, work went away...yada...yada(out of pain/sleep meds 6 more wks too). Even so I can and will go out to the garage and get a speed part I won't be putting on my car till late spring anyways, egay that mofo and drop MPP at least 25-35$ here and there till things turn around.(get rescourceful people) Glad to see an endorsement for a specific org. from someone clearly respected, giving me a good feeling of where my donation would be very effective. Not that the many other org would not be, We just can't give what we would soo love to. We already give hundreds in clothing and home goods every other month to the kidney foundation, $25/mo to the leukemia/lymphoma society, $20 /mo to both a military org and to the PBF. Yes the Policemans Benevelence Fund. After a large rash of local officers at traffic stops being mowed down into a pile of ground chuck by drunk drivers, and gunned down by thugs, doing a job actually protecting us. My wife and I simply have much compassion for those that suffer and mad respect for those that give their lives for others. We make HUGE sacrifices for good causes with smiles on our faces and will get back to giving more for the cannabis movement as well. I actually often think about what it would feel like when you get the news of victory in any/all of these issues.....enough for me to give up nights out and vacations for a couple years so far. SO WHAT Much thanks for the poke brother.......get on board people, karma is real.

well, specifically, MPP is almost solely responsible, for getting the Medical Marijuana initiatives (and other pro-MJ issues) on state ballots, that's what they do ... if not for them, 14 states wouldn't have Med MJ, and now they have teamed with NORML in some aspects ... MPP has full-time lobbyists in Washington D.C., and some state capitals ... and, they're on the job, trying to strengthen the laws in those states ... what have YOU done lately, hmmm ? ...:smokin:

    It's good to be proactive.
I believe that if everyone that was capable of growing, did. We would not even be having this discussion. I believe that growing your own should be considered doing a service to your country, and if everyone that used cannabis for any reason, grew their own.
This country would see real, "Change". That would be the ultimate grass roots initiative so to speak, it would change everything everywhere in this nation. Know one has any way to know, and I am not pretending, but how many people grow compared to how many use cannabis medical or otherwise. I betcha it's a pretty small number, just speculating though. I don't think anyone could do more individually than grow their own, and maybe share genetics and flowers w/ others that also grow. It's real action everyone can take. We also need to take care to always grow more growers.
    It's all I'm sayin'.
But donating money is good too, whatever you can do.
    Good to be back lol!:thumbsup::stoned::stoned:

this is a PATHETIC statistic !!!

Can someone explain what growing more would do?
That would just push governments to put more money into counteracting it.

As far as I can tell the government in at least Aus, America and UK are leaning towards the side of tougher penalties for growers, dealers and lesser punishments for users. If everyone grew that would just piss them off more.

I will be the first to admit that it seems pretty idealistic to hope for what I suggested.
But since you asked, humor me if you will.

There is no way to know at all, but if you could speculate the ratio of growers to users, what do you think that may be? 3%? More? Less? I dunno. I am betting it's low.

For the sake of argument, if every single person that used cannabis, no matter their reason, grew, then what do you think would happen? Who would LEO go after? No one would be selling. Those that tried, would be laughed off the face of the earth. Usually, what gets anyone busted, is the sale or purchase of cannabis. NTM, the incidental unrelated circumstances that also do. But primarily, the highest risk comes from the purchase and sale transaction. Take that out of the equation, your prosecution of cannabis users/growers/ would be next to nill.
That's how it would help. All of this is just pure speculation, sorry for the threadjacking here, just wanted to give respect to the poster and answer the question. I understand this is not what the thread was originally about nor was it the original intent of the OP, I throw myself onto the mercy of the image reaper!
I will shut the fuck up now and hope that someone else can bring this back on topic, since I kind of de-railed it with my previous rant, which lead to the question, then this post.
Again, I apologize, and am done now. :stoned::jointsmile:
