Quick question about watering (first time grow)

Hey guys thanks for the comments on my plant. It's doing pretty good. It turns out those two plants didn't die, only one died. I have the other one under a light right now and it's been growing. I'll post pictures next time of both plants i got. Tomorrow is the third week of growing for me! :rasta: I'll post new pics tomorrow for everyone to see. Till then, i'm off to go smoke a fat bowl

Quick question about watering (first time grow)

Hey guys, didn't get around to getting the pictures yesterday or the day before, so i took some today so you guys can see the progress of my plants, which they are 3 weeks and 2 days in. I currently have two plants going now. The one plant i thought died didn't, which is a big relief. Some of my leaves are turning a bit yellow, does anyone know what that means exactly? Besides that though, everything is going great!

Quick question about watering (first time grow)

    Looking good TBag.

You must have a sativa strain, those are so much taller than mine. All mine are short and stout.

I would recommend filling the soil in a little bit. I've read around here that you want the soil pretty close or level with the cup, so air can circulate around.

When mine was about two and a half weeks old, I saw roots comming out of the holes in the bottom of my dixie cups. I don't know how big your cups are, but I would recommend transplanting them. When I transplanted mine, I couldn't believe how many roots there were sprialing around the bottom. They also have grow alot more since then.

Looking good man, glad you keeping it updated.

Quick question about watering (first time grow)

Yeah man i'm not sure about the strain, but you're probably right. They are coming along pretty good. I'll be sure to fill in the soil here, so that it's more leveled with the cup and all.

The cups seem to be doing alright for right now. I transplanted them once before and that's how i lost my 3rd plant because i screwed it up. Kinda nervous about transplanting it again until i do see roots coming out. I'll probably end up trying to transplant it next week though, so that should hopefully go good.

I'll be sure to keep it updated every week

Quick question about watering (first time grow)

Hey Tbag, those gals(hopefully) are looking very good. Im just wondering where are the diagonal node growth? It must the genetics that we have that we both produce such different looking plants.

I'm glad you repotted them. A good rule of thumb is for every foot of verticle growth = 1 gal. worth of soil.

You seeing any preflowers yet? When do you plan on switching over to 12/12? Cloning?

Quick question about watering (first time grow)

Thank you very much grin :rasta: I do believe that my tallest plant is indeed a gal. I can see the diagonal node growth, but my camera doesn't take very good pictures super close up because it's an old POS camera.

Should i transplant my biggest plant into a gallon container? Would that be too much soil for how big my plant currently is? I'm hoping to transplant my biggest plant into a bigger container here soon.

No pre-flowers yet.. unfortunately. Hoping to see some soon! Should i switch to 12/12 soon? This wednesday will be 6 weeks in. When is a good time to switch over?

You should do exactly what GrinKyle said, for every foot of stalk 1 gal. extra So you have a 3 foot plant you need MINIMUM 3 gal pot...Personally if you get anything 3 foot i'd have them in 5 gal. pots or buckets....Also you can switch to 12/12 whenever you have good root structure and at least 4-6 nodes<~~~why I say that is because usually a lot of times plants will show "pre-flowers" and when I see those that's usually a good indicator you can start the flowering phase....Also remember to switch from 6500K to 2700K for flowering!
