first aero setup
I was just starting to get worried because i hadn't seen ne thing and I'm running aero...I thought since I was running aero that I should've seen something by now. Hopefully they'll show something within a few days here.....also, how ofter should I be adding nutes to my water....my plants seem to be drinking about 1gal of water every 24hrs. Right now i just top of my res when it gets low with nutrient water.
k1ng87 Reviewed by k1ng87 on . first aero setup I just threw together an aeroponics system on a very low budget. Its day 20 from the day i planted the seed into the rockwool to germinate. I've only gotten two to germinate so far but the seeds I have dont seem to be that good. Rating: 5

also.....how significant is water temp in an aero setup.....I understand that water temp is important in hydro setups because of the variations in O2 levels at different temps, but in an aero setup, the roots are exposed to the maximum amount of O2. My water temp also hovers around 72F-75F

The faster growth in hydro, or Aero, is not quite like you think. You are not waiting for your plants to grow, you are waiting for them to mature. Much different. Aero will make them grow more in veg per day, so less days veg time before you need to flower , but it doesn't make them mature quicker. Everything you are talking about doing, cloning, sexing, pruning, fimming, all are things that should not be done till the plant is sexually mature, usually 6-8 weeks from germination. Putting a plant in flower and or topping, cloning a plant that is not mature will do nothing but stunt your growth, I speak from experience. This may sound harsh or bad, but the best analogy I got is that it is like trying to get an 8 year old pregnant. Not impossible but never a good idea. At least wait till they hit puberty before you start all the funny business! Never rush plants into flower before they are ready, especially if you want to clone. It takes 3-4 weeks from cutting for a clone to even truly enter veg mode, which is where they start growing green again, not just roots. When people talk about veg time, they mean time spent in veg after the rooting or seedling stage signified by the start of new growth. If you put an immature plant in 12/12, they still flower for 8 weeks (or whatever the strain takes), but it takes longer for the flowers to appear than if the plant is mature, which means much smaller yields. You will know a plant started from seed is mature when it preflowers, and when it starts to grow nodes asymetrically. (alternating one on the left, then one on the right, not a pair on each side every time like when it is young.)

that thing in the first pic i had that on a plant and didnt know if it were a female or male. turned out to be a female, but still yours could be different but be patient and let it mature longer to get a + i.d. oh those cubes are "sure to grow" from hydrofarm huh? i just got like 40 of them for free from my hydro shop. will be definately be watching to see how they turn out. they are pretty wierd. cotton or dacron cubes with a felt top. looks like roots would love that stuff.

I think you're right AllforMe...I found two more sites with that same shape.... :-(
I've also noticed that the nodes are bulging where they meet with the main stem.
