Neat. Personal insult and attack... I guess being a "ingrateful newbie"(its ungrateful btw) and "ignorant little prick" doesn't entitle me to an opinion about a forum I frequently visit.

One should really check their facts, before correcting someone else's. One loses street-cred pointing out ones own ignorance.

You call them personal insults...I call them obvious conclusions.

Everyone KNOWS that this forum has slowed down dramatically with new posts/content since last year. I was merely saying what was on my mind, something that is allowed here w/o person attacks.

Tizn't what you say, but how you say it, and no...being a member doesn't entitle you to slam the very forum you were evidentally waiting for to re-open, unscathed. Why bother to come back at all? I'm guessing that you wouldn't have been missed one little bit. Or was that your goal...? To go out with a whimper, and a sad story of injustice?

Whether your join date may be earlier than mine, and your "popularity" may be higher than mine, and whether your post count is 14x more than mine, DOESN'T make you better than me.

Never once did I say or infer I was better than you. I stated directly that your post was unwarranted, and that you are an ingrateful little prick, as judged by the content of that post. Nobody told you not to post your words, and you freely expressed yourself here. But you are still responsible for the content. I also have the right to speak freely, but you mention, among the other insults, wishing I'd get banned for my response. So what you want applied to you, doesn't extend to others. (voicing their opinions freely...?)

At least I have the balls not to hide behind an invisible curtain. (the rep-points system)

But if it makes you feel better, no matter where you go, no matter what you do...you will always be a newbie in my eyes, lol. :jointsmile:

That point Rusty made is echoed by many other members so far in this thread GK, don't be a killjoy, a buzzkill, or a Debbie Downer.

I found your post just to be so thoughtless on so many levels because everyone was so happy to just have the site back on yet you chose to take this moment to piss on the parade. Mind you that you posted it in a thread where I asked nicely for everyone's patience and told everyone what I knew. Then I just find the vibe of the post to be abrasive. This is just scratching the surface.

The website changes in content are over a year old and we are so sick of hearing this shit. If you got something constructive to say or helpful then say it. Otherwise, the whining gets old really quick. The owner is sick of it, the mods are sick of it because we have no control over it.

I'm glad so many other members are sharing a similar view as Rusty.

GK, if you feel slighted of offended by Rusty's post, well so be it. You started this with your unnecessary comments and a little of your own medicine was needed. But enough is enough and this is where the whining and complaining and insults will stop.

Do not use the rep system to insult people GK.

Now back to better things. I still don't know what happened to the website or answers to any of the questions I'm sure all of you have. Something I did learn though is that when members were getting the generic forum page and getting the message:

that the mods can usually still get into the forums. I bring this up because many of you probably didn't see this thread if you didn't see it on those couple of days back in the middle of January. I've also seen several comments since the site came back up where people rushed to to copy things they really wanted. I'm sure that would scare me too if I was a member and some of the posts were already missing.

I'm sorry this happened as traffic was just beginning to pick back up near the end of 2008 and I really don't have any new answers since I posted this 3 weeks ago.

I just wish that, after maybe a couple weeks or whatever, if there is a next time, just someone send out a mass email or something with a lil' more info than, go play crappyarcadegames. Like,

Might have alleviated much anxiety. I can't express the amount of anger that damn page gave me EVERYTIME! I thought surely, they will at least update THIS PAGE to let everyone know whats up!?

You know what though, really I am so fucking lazy and such a pot head that I still haven't done it yet. I have to say I feel the exact same way. You don't know how many times I clicked on the link and thought it isn't up yet? WTF are they doing? Is the site down for good? Are the feds looking through all of the data? I didn't know what was up, if it is just hardware/software issues I would have expected it to be up and running way sooner then it was and this isn't just a rant from some noob, I have some experience with servers but, my specialty is personal computers.

I really haven't been able to keep up with whats happening on here in the last week or 2 because I have been buried in work. Gotta love it when the phone rings, cause its somebody calling to tell me where to pick up the money at.

Meanwhile, there are several folks that really need to chill. Life is too short to get ugly or get your panties in a wad.
