    my bud still smokable?

so i brought home some stuff over thanksgiving break but since i was flying back, i had to keep it home for christmas break. my friend told me to leave a moist paper towel in with it, so i did. then i put that bag in a little box that used to have chocolates in it, then wrapped a dryer sheet and bandana around it to get rid of the smell, then put all this in a ziplock bag, which i sealed. i came home and it was still moist but it was a real dark green. its probably coming up on being a month old. is there any chance this could be bad or moldy or anything? i usually smoke what i have right away so ive never dealt with older stuff.

thats the thing though... it doesnt smell like mold, and it only smells a little little bit like weed. it almost has no smell. when i left it, the smell was pretty strong. i took the paper towel out so it can dry a little so i can try to figure out whats up. i'm probably going to be tempted to smoke it if its moldy. i'm gonna go out on a limb and say thats probably a bad plan?

Look at it closely for any discolouration. White flecks especially indicate possible mold. Flick it gently with your finger and if a puff of 'dust' comes off that's mold. If it smells like ammonia, that's mold.

Wow, I've never had anyone tell me to store weed with a moist paper towel in there..I honestly wouldn't do that in the future..When you come back to it you can put a citrus peel in there for a couple of hours or something and it'll moisten it right back up for you..if I'm storing something for very long at all I don't even like to put pot that's very moist at all in a container that's sealed..mold is no fun

Okay that was pretty stupid of your friend.. Cannabis needs to stay in a cool, dark and dry place. Inside a jar or container for freshness.

Putting a wet paper towel in a dry place will only cause mold and mildew. I heard you can put a orange peel inside to keep bud moist.

Markass is on, but be careful of the orange peel too. I have a habit of taking the best top, put it in a jar and put it away. It was 20 percent humidity durring dry time and got a little too dry. I opened all my jars, put a thumbnail size piece in them and put them back away for a few hrs. Worked perfect except for the fact I forgot to take it out of my best top I put away 4 bout a wk. Solid white powder poof! Throwing away your best top sucks ass!!

yeah, I honestly wouldn't expect there to be that much moisture in the peel, but there damn sure is...after a couple of hours I was eager to burn some and it was unbelievably moist for the short amount of time it was in the bottle with it..

It can sure as hell make a big difference in the way it burns though..mummy dust burns up way way too quick..just aint no good, especially the prices that a lot of people pay for killer..except for canadians, yes, we know..america sucks and canada rules because pots cheaper, just thought I'd go ahead and cover my ass on that one because I already saw that one coming..ha.
