How tall should I grow my White Widow, after she is cloned, and in 7 gallon grow bag ?

So I have 30 white widow ( cloned ) and about 4-6 inches tall now. I need to know how long I should veg them for, as to not hit the 1000 HPS lamp. Currently my 6 other ones are 12 days into flowering, and one is already 61" tall...........Nice, but too tall. I'd like the clones to finish @ about 60" or less.

Any comments will be great...........Next Time.

You're running grow bags in hydro? They aren't designed for that. And theplant height : media volume ratio is different in hydro.
Also, length of veg time to a certain height is not a set number. There are more variables. And if your only worry is hitting the lamp, you still need to tell us how high you can raise it, and if it is air cooled or unshielded.

I have used "hydro" on a table. I prefer the taste better when grown in soil. I still get the same potency , and yield, but without the chemical taste.

The lamp is not cooled, but I use the heat, I live in a cold cold Canada. As for the lift up of the lamp, I have only 7 inches left to raise.

So, instead of the usual veg time, I ask if it would be plausible to shorten the "veg cycle" ?

How high is the lamp off the surface of your grow medium?

Are you saying your going to grow 30 White Widow under 1000w? If so I hope your doing SOG.

I've out grown my white widows at least 2x. Since then and until now because I dont grow her anymore, I veg them to 1' tall and bring them into flower, maybe 14" but not 16" ever. However, I was growing only 4 plants under a 1000W.

In your case with 30 of them you need to bring them in now. 4-6" and you may have to cull the week ones during flower.

Plants are 4-6IN tall and you only have 7in left to raise light? I feel like I'm missing something here

OK, Look................I live in a 4 bedroom house all by myself.
I have NO plans of growing 30 under 1 light. I do have others........

5* 1000 watt Sunmaster HPS
4* 600 watt Sunmaster MH
2* Light Rails
I use an "easy Cloner"
It's all set on timers
I use DNF
I use Promix

These ladies ( 6 plants, under 1*1000 watt ) are more than healthy. I will up pics asap.


How high I am guessing ( ladies are in 12 dark now ) about 10 inches high, from floor to medium.

Anyways, My question again is how long should I veg them for ( the 30 clones that are about 4 inches tall ( RIGHT NOW ), in order to NOT make them over 60 inches, again.

So I am sorry if I posted in the "HYDRO" section, I just assumed as the whole operation is HYDRO, the only diff in my opinion is that my "choice" of medium is not coco fibre or rockwool cubes ect.

I am not trying to be rude in any way or if I think I know it all,
I realy am stumped and I've been growing for over 15 years.

You're asking a question there is no definite answer for. General rule of thumb is your height will jump up 3 - 4x when you go from veg to flower. Meaning that if your plant is 1ft tall, by the time flower is done you should have a 3-4ft plant.

Everything changes with genetics and the breeder who made the seeds/clones; in addition to the grower, the method used to grow, any problems a long the way, the nutrient regimine as well as the amount of nutrient uptake each plant has daily/weekly... etc etc list goes on and on.

So you can only really use the rule of thumb method unless you are familiar with the specific genetics you are using. Then you should know a more exact answer to your question, but that would be a question only you could answer most accurately.
