Difference between the dank I buy and the dank I grow

    My 2 cents on scent:

I don't think my homegrown smells all that much. It doesn't have a strong scent in the house, it isn't super strong when i'm in the grow room, and it doesn't smell super strong when i'm drying, curing, and enjoying it.

It DOES smell VERY STRONG when i chop em down and take them out of the ventilated room to harvest. It DOES smell VERY STRONG when friends pull it out at their homes.

Although a couple people say they have caught wiffs in different areas of my house...I have drawn 2 conclusions - 1.) You get used to the smell of your own home. Like when you go to someone else's house, their home has a distinct scent. Your home does too, but because you are there 24/7 you are used to it and can't smell it, even your weed. 2.) My odor control is improving since I started.

    just a thought.

Leave them in a glass jar, LOOSELY packed, checking every couple days to verify that they do not feel moist or smell like ammonia, which means you jarred them too early and they may be decaying. After 2-4 weeks, you will notice that the hay smell is fading and the pot smell is coming back.

You only get 2 skunks fucking when you grow a roadkill skunk strain. Otherwise you might just get one skunk masturbating with lemon furniture polish, which is a pretty common variation on the skunk theme, or no skunks wrestling in a pile of rotting fruit.

If two skunks fuck and no potheads are there to appreciate it, do they really stink?

Im going to put that to the test when i cut down my silver haze in a week or so. I will cure a small amount for about a month in he jar and see what difference that does to the lady as compared to the rest..

    Thanks for the info.

So when bud smells really good it means it was cured for an extended period, or do some just naturally smell dank cure or no cure?

That's what i was wondering...and I'm not entirely convinced that all the dank nugs I have had were cured? No matter what the strain, even if it wasn't a skunk such as kali mist, northern lights, alaskan thunderfuck, white widow, sour diesel, south island skunk (this is a skunk) are all REALLY stinky.

Were they just all cured, or just grown well?

I would have to say it boils down to the cure. WTF if thats what Stinky says it gets my vote!!!!

Yeah stinky knws more than all of us probably every will!

My buddy just finished his Cheese grow and has had it in jars for exactly 2 weeks and told me it is just now startng to get rid of the plant smell and take on a smell of its own.

So thi sis what I am going to try:

    1. Hang dry for 2-3 days (Cutting off as much leaf as possible)
    2. Then into brown paper bags until ready for jarring
    3. Jar and burp for around a week (until they quit freshening back up)
    4. Jar and seel (Pop once a week)

    How's that sound stinky?

Also I have grown Mazar once before, has 2 phenos, a green and purple, this time I had 2 green phenos, one spicy smelling and the other a delcioius orange citrus smell. I am leaning towards the orange citrus...anyoe ever smoked mazar and have a preference towards a pheno?

I am letting it go 63 days instead of 56 cause everythign I read says to really let your mazar finish.
