I'm with ya. Yet another totally cool idea. You're talking about that insulation that is used to wrap pipes with a slit down the center.

Too bad I can't post a pic of my other idea. Let me see if I can explain. Basically take a piece of pipe then slip a condom over the end (I know, weird but the best I can think of). Where the base of the condom fits on the end of the pipe you'd use a hose clamp to secure the rubber, then punch a hole through the reservoir tip for the cable to run through with another hose clamp over the tip to keep a good seal.

I've seen something like this before, maybe on some huge computer. It would be pretty easy to make, but instead of a condom a more sturdy shroud would need to be used...... like a tire innertube!! Just thought of that right now. Who says stoners are not creative. I may have to try that with your idea of the foam for an extra good seal.

Unfortunately I'm not looking for a J-Box solution as I don't want to cut or splice any wires. I ask because I want to mount my ballast outside of the grow room due to the huge amounts of heat it gives off, but I need the connector from the light to be intact to properly plug into the ballast.
