my first light was a flouro shop light from the garage. it worked good. if its just in your bedroom, i would think a flouro would do it. my first indoor strains were always free bag seeds, but you might want to ask someone more experienced for a good starting strain to grow.

You will want an HPS for flowering, a 70 watt security HPS will work, they are around 45 dollars. Skunk 1 is a good beginers choice.
with the 70 watt you wont be able to do more than 2 or 3 plants so I would get some feminized seeds.
If you want a bit more potency and indica stone, northern lights is a wonderful choice, it is also low odor, but yields less than the skunk and usualy costs more
