Normally, you need a male to polinate the female, which develops the seeds. Quantity of seeds depends on quantity of pistols (the white hairs on the female) that are pollinated. One grain of pollen, can make up-to one seed. Less pollen...fewer seeds. More pollen...shitloads of seeds.

If you stress the ladies too much tho, she will start throwing-out her own pollen...and she will pollinate herself, and all the other ladies present. (a defense strategy used by some plants, for preservation of the species through emergencies like fires, floods, high winds, predation...)

    Hermie question

Yea you can carefully pick off the male parts. But if you break it then you are pretty screwed. It's advised to spray the plants with water first (if your buds aren't too big, careful with the mold!!!), because the water will kill the pollen. Some tweezers would be the best, try and grab those little balls by their stems.

Some strains are more stable than others, and some will hermie even without stress... One of the drawbacks of (some) bagseed and even some of the expensive seeds from well known companies.
