what kind of carbon

hello guys i came across a post ''how to make a caron filter'' and was wondering is there a certain kind of carbon i should buy? i goggle and found carbon for water will that work?


sorry to post this here,but when i tried to post in the grow faq's and it would'nt let me can the mods plz put this in the right place or mabe help me here?

Yes, activated carbon is the same stuff for water filters as well. Your hydro store can get it up to 50# and is cheaper than the pet store. Comes in small particle and larger chunks. I have not checked pricing at a local water softener/filtration company.
