which fox farm bloom nutrient is best?
I have been using Fox Farms in soil since April 07.
for the first year, I spent little and went with only Grow Big for Veg and Big Bloom for Flower. I would give nutes about once a week.
The thing i liked about Big Bloom is that it wont burn your plant.
Read the info on it, its got a nice variety of ingredients.
major nute%
0.01% N
0.3% P
0.7% K
I was using a soil mix of 2 parts MG soil, 1 part plain potting soil, and 1 part perlite. The MG soil is nutrient packed, but I flushed before use.
I also didnt add any nutes until at least a month in.
Altho the Fox Farms ppl may recommend not using Big Bloom as a stand-alone during flower, it did work for me, for a year. On 2 grows it worked remarkably well, given the conditions.
I have since started using the full line and have gotten the best results of my life on my current grow.
I'll Always use the full line from now on.
-edit- forgot to mention that I use the FF feed schedule for dosage amounts and i cut back to about 75% strength. but, i give nutes almost every watering (each watering is about 2-3 days), so they get nutes about twice or 3 x's a week.

I give 1/2 dilution per the schedule, on Mondays and Thursdays, with fresh ph'd waterings inbetween. This totals 100% of the FF schedule. The exceptions being:
a) Big Bloom I add at 1/4 strength, twice a week for entire grow. (half their recommended ammount total for the week)
b) Soluables...Cha Ching I add 1/8 tsp:gallon of nute solution, whenever feeding the mature ladies.

I am currently working with White Widow and SNLxNH strains.
I did start them slow, 1/2 dosage once a week.
I gradually gave more, and more often and watched for the response.
we gradually got up to what i believe is approx 75% strength and nearly every watering.
These 2 strains love the nutes!
my (flower) mix is currently as follows-
Every Watering-
2 gal water
3 teaspoon Tiger Bloom
1.5 tablespoons Big Bloom
* every other watering, I add 3/4 teaspoon ChaChing (was Beastie Blooms in earlier stage, havent actually used the Open Sesame in first stage yet.)
for the last month at least, I been watering every 2-3 days.
thats 2 or 3 nute/waterings a week. I do occassionally give just water, but not in at last the week or 2.
Believe me, I am also surprised by how much nutes these girls are taking. But, look at my combo log in my sig, the proof is right there.
The SNLxNH are a hearty strain according to Weedhound who worked with it in the past. I did a lil diggin and found info that claimed WW could also take a decent load of nutes. I was watching for them to react poorly and woulda backed off, but quite the opposite happened.
I dont plan on giving any stronger doses, I'm very happy with the current results.
Wanda (WW) has been on water only for over a week and is coming down this weekend. the samples are outstanding.

OH, one other thing, forgot to add!
Ive noticed the nutes push my water's PH way down.
I have been adding a 1-2 tablespoons of PH UP as needed to get PH to 6.5-ish

I'm using the FF 3 part set in my grow (see KGB/Lemon Skunk thread in Grow Logs ) using coco as a medium. I use 1 tsp of Grow Big (soil version)or Tiger Bloom depending on where the schedule is, and 1 tbs of Big Bloom per gallon of water, feeding once every day, with a clear water flush on Sunday. Seems to be working remarkably well so far. Not using the solubles, though.
Quite correct about the FF line lowering pH, my well water is quite hard (8.0 or higher). Adding normal amount of nutes brings it to around 6.9-7.2 range.

another note-
my soil is very porous.
in a 3 gal pot, i have run out in 30sec-1.5 min.
usually, about 50% the water is run off.
i suspect that is why it hasnt hurt, doesnt soak in it.
