agreed ... the whole idea of 'pre-soaking' seeds, and the 'papertowel method' are just bad gardening practices ... I know, it's 'standard procedure' these days, but it accounts for most seedling problems (the cool dampness is a breeding ground for Pythium Wilt, etc.) ... I always say "imitate nature", and nature doesn't pre-soak, or even use paper towels ... here is a GREAT guide from Mike, of Mandala Seeds, to read, regarding germination, and why, and how, seeds open ...
