a second germination test: I placed 18 DRY seeds, into cups, filled with moistened, well-drained, Miracle-Gro 'Organic' potting soil (all I could find locally here) with perlite added ... 12 NorCal Daddy's Girl seeds (3 yrs old), and 6 Sour Jack seeds, (2 yrs. old) ... placed the cups in the yard, and ignored them ... after the 3rd day, I have 15, of those 18, well sprouted ... it's 'easy' ... as I've always recommended, 'imitate nature' ... throw the wet papertowels away !, they're a breeding ground for Pythium Wilt, and harmful bacteria ... once used as an aid (?) to test-germinate old, questionable seeds, somehow it has become thought of, as the world-standard of seedstarting ... not so ... good growing !
