the hair colors should be a genetic trait. do you mean should the trichromes turn amber? then yes. you should harvest when you have ~75-80% amber trichromes.

From what I gather, this is dependent of the sort of effect you want. Harvest when trichomes are mostly amber = heavy body stone. Harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy = heady high.
