I started another thread about how to bring it up to my wife that I would like to grow a plant or two and make THC pills to counteract some of the side effects from my disease and medication.

She fully understands the medical benefit from using MJ and really has no issues with that side of the table. The issue is with the legality of it.

From what I've looked up it seems that Mississippi has somewhat decriminalized MJ use but I'm looking for some deeper information that I can pass on to my wife.

Is there anyone out there from Mississippi or knows someone from Mississippi that has gotten caught growing a plant our two for their own personal use (Not selling, just using what they grow)? Does anyone have an idea of what the outcome would be if one were to get caught with just a couple of plants in their own home? Would I just be looking at a fine maybe? Or jail time? I understand that the law basically says I would be doing both but I think it's also up to the one who catches you, they might be more lenient and then again maybe not.

The chances of getting caught are next to zero because I live out in the middle of no where (Nearest town is 15 miles away, I live in the sticks) and I wouldn't be making it known I grow, I wouldn't be selling it, I wouldn't be having friends over to toke up (can't toke anyway Gotta injest it, but might look into a vaporizer).

Now I'm sure you and I both know that if this is my plan and I stick to it the chances of getting caught doing it are 1% (Not a factual guess) but I know for a FACT this would be the major concern to her if I brought it up, and understandably so. So I would like to get some information on what I could be looking at IF I happened to get caught.

The NORML website has a state by state....listing for the bad news. Rule #1 ...don't get caught. You have to stay under the radar.

hah, no Mississippi isn't even really close to being a decriminalized state. I'm from the gulf coast of ms and just last month they busted like 4 different people growing and they're all in jail now. One guy was doing it down the street from my house inside of an old boat lol. I mean I'm sure if you're careful about it, you have a low chance of getting caught, but its definitely still illegal to grow and they will definitely throw you in jail if you are caught. You may have a reduced sentence, but yeah there are many penalties you will have to pay if you are caught.

Well it's definitely a no go at the moment

On the way to the doctors office this afternoon I was able to bring it up in our conversation (fit perfectly) and she is definitely against possession of MJ PERIOD

There are a couple of cops in the town next to mine that got their butts in a sling for arresting with less than an ounce. Thats only a mistameaner or so said the news folks onna TV. The cops are not out to bust for personal use growing, they are out to get the dealers. The usual MO is the dealers get busted for narcotics and the weed is just coincidental. The ones that have gotten busted for weed are the ones with a couple dozen plants or more.

As far as the doctors, there are some in the Hbrg area that recommend weed to cancer patients(not officially, but its *suggested* for nausia relief).

Mayhaps you need to look into a different doctor?? BTW...growing your own is not a big thing.... just keep it to a couple of plants, and keep it indoors. you don't have to do the whole hydroponics thing, just keep it simple....a closet or cabinet, a couple of CFLs, a timer, and a couple of 5 gallon buckets of some good potting soil.

There are all kinds of stealth grows that are documented on the boards here, including my own.

Well knowing my wife even if she were frolicking in a meadow naked taking in the beauty of everything around her and finally feeling alive she would still be against it lol

Well... if you live "in the middle of nowhere" you could try to grow outdoors (guerilla growing)...
