vacation with no baby sitter, help!
i have to leave my plants for 10 days. it's spring break so no one can water em for me. Any suggestions on what to do with them so they don't die while i'm gone. i would take them home but i dont think mom would approve. i was thinking about not watering them the few days before and then overwattering before i go so they have something to drink in my stead. any other suggestions or anything you have done when in a similar situation would be more than helpful

get a tray that can fit all your buckets in it and is fairly taller than the buckets, just poor ph'd nutrient formula into the tray with ur buckets in it, and fill it up about half way . its just like hydroponics, and itll take a cuple days for ur plants to completely soak up all the water, and the soil will stay moist for a matter of days as well. this will probably work in ur situation, but still try to get somebody that u trust to water em at least one more time!

If you place some containers of water with a strip of cloth going from the water to each plant it should tide you over. I don't grow but i do have a lot of houseplants and it works for them. Get a second opinion just incase - don't want to be responsible for you losing your shit. ~lol~ Best of luck*

Hey
I went on a trip for 2 weeks and let my pant in my bedroom, she grew 1 feet taller and i just waterd it one time: before going on the trip. Remember that in thw ild, plants can stay weeks without water and then have a litle rain. If you leave 10 days be shure of some litle details: if you have an Hps or MH light or if you grow with the sun, well the dirt will dry much faster and youl have a bit more complications. If you have sphagnum moss in your po, it will retain the water. Keep the plant in a almost shaded place, the plant can strech a bit (to reach the light).
hope this will help see ya have fun

this is yet another time when a nice drip system would come in handy =P
Yeah, that bucket idea sounds ideal. But I would only fill it up 1/4 or just over. For this to work...your plants need to be potted in a pot with holes in the bottom. this will allow the soil to soke up to the roots ( I hope
). good luck man.
P.S. Pot plants can live up to 2 weeks without water, but its not good for it and your yeild will probally we a little worse than if it was watered regulary. But in your case I would say its all good if you use the bucket method.
