the system is some home made I can tell it's a 10 gallon blue container with 8 holes with I'm guessing 6'nets hydrotonrocks and roockwool and that air pump with hose and a blue bar I attached that came with it..suppost to help it...well that's all I know at the moment..

Seedlings dont need nutes, if it wasnt growing you probably didnt give it enough light. LEDs arnt the best to grow vegatation w/ by the way, the technology just isnt up to par yet, you'd be better off with some CFLs, thats my opinion, unless you want to go all out w/ HPS and MH lighting, they require a ballast and create an ass-ton of heat, so be prepared to shell out some $$$(though your results will be more favorable). Your LED light is way too far away from your plants, way too far... thats why they didnt grow
As for nutes just go with the reliable Advanced Nutrients brand, they are quality and not too hard on the wallet.

Dude, maybe you should start off in soil, you dont seem to grasp the concept of hydroponics yet, not even the basics. You cant half-ass it with hydro man, u gotta know what ur doin. You didnt even know you had to check the pH of the solution? pH of nute solution is crucial for your plants to survive. You need to figure out how to do something beofore you attempt it, or else you'll just blindly fail. Read a book about hydroponics or look online for an ebook, it only took me a few days of casual reading to understand what the general processes are behind a successful hydroponics system. Your pretty lost dude, you may want to order a book on growing hydroponic marijuana, they have some pretty sweet literature out there on the subject.
Good luck on your venture, but try to invest a little more time and thought into what your doing, i dont think you even understand whats going on. And there are tons of step-by-step guides out there for what ur wanting to do, u gotta do some research, even though its not particularly fun.

DUDE, do some research first then ask questions. Educate yourself as best you can, then shoot questions away. Everything ur asking is already present on the sight, in great detail...
and sprouts dont need nutrients, you'll just kill em if you give em nutes that early.

You're gonna need a lot more than 40 bucks my friend.
At the bare min. you will need a ph pen, some ph down
    nutrients and more light

But, so far the bar is most likely an air stone. Attatch it to the air pump and put it in your reservoir....leave this on 24/7. At first have the water level just at the bottom of the pots of hydroton, so the bubbles splash the bottom and you get air and water to the rootzone.

Get a timer and run the light on 18/6 or 24 if you cant get one for now.
    -Good luck
