Single bucket for WW
I have 2 White Widow seeds I started and now are sitting in 4in RW blocks and getting ready for the next step. My thought I had was to take a 3 gallon bucket (aprox), drill a hole in the side near the bottom, install a plug of sorts, add Hydrotron and plant, Flood bucket with water from bucket #2, pull plug and drain. Rinse and repeat 2-3 times a day. Be a poor mans Hydro bucket I'm thinking. Any thoughts?

And you don't think doing this two or three times a day for several months isn't going to be a bit of....well....a hassle? Why not spend $15 for a drip ring setup from GH and another $10 for an air pump. For $25.00 you just made your life a million times easier.

Because atm the bucket and the rock is all the budget can afford, so I guess I should rephrase that and say by theory it would work till I can get the ring and pump? Only talking maybe couple weeks tops

actually you can do it cheaper and without the ring
the way is to buy some fish tank tube 3/4 inch and cut a slit in the bottom
run your air to the slit, cut your hose long enough to go to the top of the bucket.your done. the air pump was 8 bucks and the hose was 5 bux at the fish store.

right on, fiddy! buckets are great, aren't they???
just an idea.... but we have $5 airstones at our local hydro store, and IMHO they work better than any other... i have some airdiscs, air wands, a 4 foot long bendable hose-stone (or whatever they're called).
see if any local stores (maybe even petco) have any ceramic stones for a couple bucks to go with the airpump.
just curious... where did you get the WW seed? i've heard that different phenotypes either get really tall and lanky or stay short and fat... as-if there were two choices!
keep posting! i would love to hear more about your setup and operation!
take care, and relax!!!!!

I actually ended up with seeds from buying some smoke locally. Only had 1 cabinet running at the time and ran out of my own so have been buying until harvest time. Sorry for not updatinig this earlier but the bucket idea went down the tubes since the seedlings pretty much caught up to 8 clones I had started so they are all now inside my DIY cabinet. If you want to continue to follow this story of the WW then look in the Hydro area and name of post is DIY Hydro Grow.
