    3 problems with my grow.

alright well, first im new to the site. looking forward to being a member.

just a little info about my plants -
i started by planting 14 seeds. all of them sprouted. through the odds i now have 11 plants because the first one that died i dropped pot's dirt clump (plant included) upside-down onto its would-be new medium and crushed it. when i was at 13 plants i snapped enough roots on another child to cause the 2nd fatality (though i tried to revive it.) the 12 plants where thriving till about a week ago when another died from torn roots that happened WAY back when i first repotted all of them... it was inevitable yet i couldnt tell because it didnt actualy start to wanna DIE, but i thought so since it was staying the same size... whata waste of time -_-... and i am now currently with 11 plants... and i fear i might be down to 9 soon...
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

now for the THREE situations that have me very worried:

BS #1) I am at about 7 weeks since my plants sprouted... and this is what they look like: (See Image 1)

this seems to be really slow... and i have friends claiming to know their plants sex already and be twice the size (or be much more mature in the veg stage)... right now the kids are under 2x 23watt coil-shaped CFLs with clamplight dishes reflecting the light (id think it would amplify it?). I have them electronically timed to be lit from 6:30am - 8:30pm (had them at 6am to 10pm then went down the scale from there). i wont start the 12/12 until these peckers are at least 1.5feet...

Question: They were all planted at the same time. why are they all different sizes and worst off, so damn small still???

BS #2) i JUST repotted my biggest child and snapped one of the roots. but it still had a seemingly sufficient amount of roots left on it. yet it looks like THIS?? (See Image 2)

This happened about 4 hours ago and my plants looking critical... this really pisses me off since, well, it was one of the 2 biggest i had.

and this is the second plant i repotted without snapping any rootsSee Image 3)

and WTF MATE??? imean i know that they go through quite a bit of shock but it its this one especially that has ME shocked that it looks like its been killed.

Question: how can i revive my plants?? the big one is my main priority, though it seems to be drooping so much its leaves are too massive for it to handle and are bending it over which cant be healthy... the second plant should have a higher survival rate so im REALLY wondering whats up with that...

when i repotted both of these plants i took them out of their original place and sepparated the dirt from the roots and then poked a hole with my finger into their new mediums and placed their straight line of roots into them. they should be doing fine...

any help to prevent 2 severe casualties??? i cant risk loosing these 2 particular plants... i only have 4 of these specific strains and they took years to develop (my bro's work before he left to Manchester).

appreciate any experienced help i may receive!!
my thanks. sorry for the extensive message...

Your plants are most likely that small because they are under inadequate light. Bump it up to at least 8 cfls, 11 plants are gonna want a lot of light. Whats hte square footage of you area? A 23 watt cfl puts out about 1400 lumens, and at least 5000 lumens per square foot is optimal.

Also if you start each plant in its own pot, when you re pot you wont run the risk of breaking any roots. Transplant each plant into its own pot asap and try not to break up any roots.

ive had them in seperate pots before, but while what your saying is true (i have 2 cfls, and not 8) i decided to put them into that clothing bin because of space. the pots consumed so much space back-to-back that my plants grew at an annoying tilt towards the light because of the bulky pots. also i have 4 pots to work with... lol.

and idk how to measure square feet, but that bin is about 2.5 feet wide and 1.5 feet long. i had the crazy idea that if i eliminate the pots i could squeeze them more closer, still allowing enough space for roots and having them all grow straight.

wouldnt 8 lights at 18hours a day rack up my electric bill??? and i only have 2 socket spaces for lights. would 4 lights be ok? but then... my electronic timer only allows 2 sockets >_<

to be honest with you, im growing these as an order for my friend who will buy them from me for the value of whatever is produced from them. i dont want my expence to outweigh the return. and since hes my friend im giving him a friend's price on the yield, so no 500 quid lighting systems or complicated hydroponics for me...

how can i be cost-effective about this? and i dont get lighting... its a constant sorce... wouldnt holding 1 CFL really close to a plant equal the same as 10CFLs that are 6 feet away? that was my original theory..

i failed to mention that i live in Hawaii.

though winter is still a damper on growth rate... i have my other 2 plants outside for experimental purposes... though last year my outdoor experience took forever just the same. because of the less sunlight during these months.. + bugs/ theives/ police...

I dont know why i never took this into account... i believe this is a problem that is unique to me only.

LOL... ive taken all necessary precautions to keep my plants in a covert environment... closing my window blinds, locking my room door (only i have the key), never leaving anything opened while unattended, etc...

    I even put my CFLs inside of light clamp dishes to cloak the bulbs from bouncing the light too far along my ceiling when its night time... and its for this specific reason that i wonder why i never asked myself this next question;

if you take a nice look at the pic i provided via phone, that will explain all... that hole in the wall above my dinning room table is a direct hole in my room. you cant see any light from here (which is good) because i cloaked the grow lights from being discovered from down stairs.

but... i cant believe i never thought of this until now...
How the hell am i gonna hide the smell once they flower/mature???!!

im kicking myself for not thinking about the smell... could the scent travel far enough to be discovered from that hole? its about 15+ feet up... and even further into my room the plants are in a closed but HIGHLY vented closet... also the fact that im growing 9 in there... what you guys think? will i be fine with this hole? or will the smell be able to reach beyond it into the downstairs level? (if mom finds it, i will be evicted... prices on homes are 2nd highest here!)

So, let's see if I understand...you live in your mom's home, but you don't have her permission to grow there? So, in effect you are saying it's ok with you...that she could go down for a felony as a result of your selfishness? :wtf:
Have you already figured-out what you would tell her if you accidentally caught her home on fire because you overloaded a circuit, spilled a jug of water on a ballast, or timer catches fire? Have you already thought of what you'd tell yourself if she was inside when it happened? Have you thought of anyone other than yourself?

If you can't grow responsibly, don't fucking grow.

RT is correct ... in addition, if caught by the Law, your Mom's home could be taken from her, immediately, even before a trial ... very irresponsible of you ... :smokin:
