Astral projection and remote viewing are similar, but not exactly the same thing. It is real, I can assure you. I have done it, we all have done it, many times, but we are usually not aware of it. You can do it deliberately, with practice.

While laying in bed either trying to fall asleep or upon a slight waking during the night, I will find my self looking around my room or at some specific aspect of it. There is something not quite "normal" about it which my mind's language interprets as "improper consistency" of the matter. That often leads me to realize that my eyes are closed.
