I once had what I thought was a polyploid(triploid) but according to a certain stinky attic it was actually a "whorled phytaxy". This was the most interesting plant I had ever grown. I started out about 33% bigger and actually seemed to grow 33% which made sense because 33% more leaves=33% more photosynthesis. The picture of the first three leaves was taking in mid-feburary and the final 2 pictures were takin on 5/25 and you can see it was already 6 foot tall. It got so tall so fast that I had to lay it down. Unfortuatly it was found by my dad and was killed. I can only imagine the yeild if that were to keep growing vegetative for another 2 months and then another 2 months of flowering... But I still kinnda think it was a triploid(had 3-sets of chromosomes as opposed to 2 (diploid)). Hopefully stinkattic will clarify why it is NOT a polyploid issue.
