OK so here's how I do it. I take a small plastic tote wrap the bottom in duct tape to keep the light out. Then I create a hole in the lid using a soup can and a propane torch to heat the can and melt through, this makes a perfect fit for most 3" net pots. As you can see in the picture 2 holes have duct tape around them, I was given clones in 3" net pots that were just a tad smaller. I then fill my res so that it is just below the bottom of the net pots and add 1air stone per plant placed directly underneath the plant. The air stones are hooked up to an aquarium pump via air tubing. I will leave the clones in here till there about 8" tall or so, what your really looking for is a good set of roots before you transplant them to 5 gallon buckets.
