Need advice on 1st stealth grow box build
Hello all, I am doing my first stealth box build and need some advice so I don't totally fuck it up. I have a great PC server case I'm going to use, I figure it's a good space to use since it's tall, spacious and is somewhat reflective inside. Dimensions are 29" tall x 8.5" wide x 17.5" deep.
Basically here's what I'm needing for advice:
-How much lighting do I need for this space, what is going to be my cheapest option with enough light to get the job done?
-Smellproof is a MUST so I need to know what the best plan of attack for that is with this case, but don't know where to begin with that. This is the most crucial part of the equation, and the part where I'll spend to get it right, but it is essential that there be zero smell.
-Will a few computer fans be able to keep the heat down inside the case?
-Is there anything I will need, or that will help that I'm forgetting / not listing?
Any tips, suggestions are greatly appreciated.Bitlovin Reviewed by Bitlovin on . Need advice on 1st stealth grow box build
NICE, a PC server makes for a badass stealth grow operation. Im planning my grow right now, acquiring parts etc...
If your willing to spend $$ for the odor control just buy a carbon scrubber, they can get pretty spendy, some last for 18 months... an alternative to buying the carbon scrubber would be make your own, pretty simple, or I've heard of people making filters with kitty litter, the filter lasted 3 grows before replacement for one guy...
If you use flouescents than you can drastically cut down on heat and maybe save some $$ on ur bill
due to the small 8.5" width your not going to squeeze more than 3 plants in there
looks like it'll be pretty inconspicuous, good luck man

That set-up sounds friggin awesome! I noticed Lowes/Home depot caries a 300w equiv cfl, a pair would work ok I think. I personally have only used them to root clones but there are lots of guys on here that seemed to have had good luck bud'n with them. As far as the smell, activated carbon is your best bet and sounds like the elf is right up your alley. The climate and odor control is prob the biggest challenge you'll face because you'll need a fan strong enough to push/pull enough volume of air through the filter and able to pull enough air through a passive air intake without back drafting outside the box. Even if you use a fan on intake air, the exhaust fan will need to be strong enough to move more air through the filter than intake fan pushes free-flow unless you incorporate a backdraft flap on intake port. The optimum situation is to be able to flow the air straight outside the house/apt. I would also invest in some kind of climate controller, you may not need one but it's nice to be able to control temp and humidity. I use a hydrofarm deluxe climate controller..works great. One other thing I would consider is ease of access to the plant. I assume you'll be using dirt so will you have the privacy to remove plants to water in a sink? Otherwise you'll need to deal with run-off, run a drain hose from a tray maybe. You might also consider noise too, the tiny 2in fans are loud enough but i'm sure you'll need at least the larger 3.5in computer fans that I use on my cabinet and they are noisy......all I can think of 4 now, good luck and let us know how it goes and if more ??? good luck bro
I love when my pocket smells like a skunk shit a jolly rancher on a pine tree.
Close the window, your\'e lett in\' the stank out!
Oohhhh, boom goes the dynamite!

This is just my 2 cents on the subject
In order to make a PC grow worth it you must have the following-
-24"+ pc tower
-Lowryder strain or use low stress training LST techniques
-Adjustable Mesh shelf to lower and raise plants close to the light
-at least 4 26w+ CFL both 6400k and 2400k for veg and flower
-STEALTH!!! It better be stealthy or why in the fuck else would you be growing in a pc case!!
So yes it does work if done correctly.
I personally made my own but PLEASE do not get jipped by people selling these for $400+. If you are going to buy one check out ebay (if you already havent) or Stealth PC Grow Case.
