    If you could breed perfection...

What would be your ideal phenotypes? (go ahead and dream...this is all in good fun.)

My top characteristics in order of importance:

    1. QUICK finish...8 weeks TOPS
    2. Decent yield
    3. Low Odor in flower
    4. Easy trimming
    5. Minimal Stretch in flower (or at least strong enough to hold itself up, i'm sick of tying heavy plants up.)
    6. Unusual Colors (Akin to Those red/orange Romulan, Jilly Bean, Creamsicle strains. Fuck all those tinky-winky purple strains.)

I suppose that's it for now. of course i'd like the High to be amazing and totally frosted. But that usually goes without saying.

    Alright.

that sounds worse than I meant it, , what I meant was, I'm couldn't be happier with what I normally smoke, and my local sources tend to be more indica-leaning, knock my ass out (I prefer spacey, heady stuff, ... I'm a wimp, can't handle strong indicas ) ...

I'm not making this up, or buttering your muffin there, big guy- YOU DID IT.
I've been running that Girl in hydro in 3" pint pots in ebb n flow and taking down popsicles of the dankiest, stickiest stuff you can imagine, in like a RIDICULOUS 6 weeks flat. I mean, omg, that's as fast or faster than the BOG stuff, which is legendary for its speed to finish.
And it doesn't stink up the house in flower. It smells like pineapple air freshener.
And the high is comfortable and happy for daytime if you don't smoke way too much of it!
Trim is almost optional. Once she flowers, those bud leaves are pointy and tiny and virtually insignificant. I leave them on.
    Color is sagey-pistachioey. Pretty.

    thanks in advance

Stinky is always flattering me, (I told her my real name is Brad Pitt ), don't rat me out, I need the affection ...

'NorCal Daddys Girl' (NCDG), was a 'stroke of luck', in every sense of the term ... I just crossed, and backcrossed a couple favorites, and let 'hybrid vigor' do the rest ... she had only seen 3 backcrosses by me (usually, it takes 6-bxs to be thought of as 'stable', as I understand it), by the time the fires wiped out my plants ... will resume my pet project as soon as I find my "widow with a tall-ceilinged basement" ... rumors of very limited-supply NCDG seeds soon being available ... waiting to hear more, I will update as able :smokin:

OK. I am interested in breeding. I've done a small bit of searching, but not as much as i usually do. I don't consider myself a newb to growing, but i feel like breeding opens a whole new world i just can't grasp at the moment...

Could I ask for someone knowledgeable in breeding to put together or refer me to a nice guide? I don't need my hand held, just pointed in the right direction.

Perhaps just an overview of what's involved. I'd also like to see a glossary of breeding terms (what's a backcross? F1 F2? S1 S2?) Define stable and how to know when you've gotten there. Any other need to know info...

I don't know anything about breeding other than pollination, observation, and selection. I know that this is asking A LOT, but it would also mean A LOT, at least to me.

Thanks very much. I hope to someday give back as much as i have gotten from this community.
