i am upgrading from a 400 to a 600hps in a 4x4 closet area with no heat extraction....i've been using a window a/c and have had no heat problems. now which reflector would you use for best coverage/yield?

I would pick the 3rd one.

Defenitly not the 2nd one, its to small.

    The 1st one is ok.

The 3rd one is biggest, seems like it would cover your area nicely. go for it.

even if without heat extraction would the cool tube be beneficial?

    Size? Not really.

As the reflector gets bigger, you take a hit from the inverse square law.
I would guess that, given 97% reflectivity, shape would be more important
A smoothly parabolic shape gives a good round spot focus, for a circular coven of white widows
A movified V shape would be best for up-tight rows of radish in rectangular rooms.

Personally, I cut my own custom reflector shapes out of Reflectix with a pair of scissors.
At fiddy cent per sq. ft., I can afford to make a few errors.
I tape lengths of 12 ga. copper wire to the back and bend it to my needs.

thanks but i'm not much of a diy.
kinda leaning towards this one High Tech Garden Supply
but don't know if it's worth the extra $60 or if the cool tube will reduce heat even with any extraction device?
