not hot enough
ive made about 5 batches of brownies so far and the first batch was the strongest.
never used a thermometer and just went by keeping the oil at a very light simmer for about an hour.
now after reading all the threads about keeping the temp at about 90-99'C for 2 hours in a double boiler ive tried those methods and didnt get the strength ive expected. even with coconut oil with more saturated fat.
there was a thread ive read on a different forum that you want the thc to vaporize but since its submerged in oil its absorbed in the oil. meaning at about 200'C instead of 100'C.
ill try this next time and hope it works. im only using 2g samples at a time so i dont waste too much if it doesnt work.
so ill bring it up to a light simmer and take the temperature and see what it really is.
and even though it did extract some thc from the 100'C double boiler method it did have a stronger taste to it. so i think 1 hour at a light simmer should be perfect.
either that or my tolerance is way up which i doubt it since i dont smoke as much.fredobox Reviewed by fredobox on . not hot enough ive made about 5 batches of brownies so far and the first batch was the strongest. never used a thermometer and just went by keeping the oil at a very light simmer for about an hour. now after reading all the threads about keeping the temp at about 90-99'C for 2 hours in a double boiler ive tried those methods and didnt get the strength ive expected. even with coconut oil with more saturated fat. there was a thread ive read on a different forum that you want the thc to vaporize but Rating: 5
