pretreating Hydrotron
It's definitely reusable (as are the higromite rocks I use) but the amount of work required to make sure your media is clean and disnifected is just too much trouble for me......I've tried it both with the hydroton and higromite.

pretreating Hydrotron
I did not plan on reusing the media.
In fact, for the cost of 25$ for enough hydrotron to last at least 6 cycles, when I add in costs of airstones for each cycle I am still at less than $10 per cycle. When compared to soil, I was spending $50 per cycle on soil and perlite.
I have at least 2 weeks to pretreat so i will watch the PH level closely over the next few days and post back what goes on.
PH still sits at 6.0 after a few hours of soaking.
Interesting talk though. Thanks for chiming in..
