info on Medical cannabis being prescribed for insomnia in Ontario Canada

Does anyone have any info on Medical cannabis being prescribed for insomnia in Ontario Canada. I've been having trouble with insomnia since i was a teenager and its been warring me down for some time and I'm running out of steam. I use to smoke weed when i was younger and i remember it sometimes would help me sleep. Sleeping pills just don't do anything for me or leave me groggy and useless to go to work, also my job requires me to wake up periodically during the night to work January to June (the birthing season for horses) and you cant just keep popping sleeping pills all night. So Medical cannabis seems like a good fit for my needs as i can use it for when i first go to sleep and again if i have to get up during the night to work to help me get back to sleep be for my actual work day begins. However i have been unable to find any information on what you have to do get it prescribed or what kind of doctor i would even have to see, cause i doubt my regular doctor would be able to do anything or even where to turn. I did come across a post somewhere that said that they wont even prescribe Medical cannabis for insomnia. I would like to do this legally for obvious reasons, but if I have to I will grow it my self (I've already set up a small grow room if there is one thing these forums have in spades its excellent how to instructions). so if anyone can help let me know.

sorry I havent found any info. My personal thought on the topic is... it helps me sleep, but theres also be nights i get stoned my heart races alittle parinoia sinks in and that never is a sleep ad. so find a strain that calms you and sets you on your butt. then grow it!

I also am very interested in some useful info regarding cannabis and insomnia since I too have had insomnia for smoe time. I think it would be Very useful if only the damn government would grow up and let marijuana be used medicinally and study it more carefully. I hear though that the medical marijuana can be a lot different from the weed you might find on the streets since the medical marijuana may be of a specific strain that is used to treat insomnia. Also it may be more pure, and organic.

I believe medical marijuana has great potential, and it needs to be studied more. Especially so that medical marijuana users can get to know about HOW to use marijuana properly to treat ailments.
