growing season for pa?
I've always had success planting in April or May (depending on how harsh the winter has been and how cold it still is) and harvesting in mid to late October (again depending on weather conditions) One of the worst things that happen to people is not paying close attention to the weather and waiting until after the first frost to harvest.

to get them going. Then watch the supermarkets for their outdoor displays of tomatoes and veggie plants. When the tomato plants are being sold, it is time to plant them outside. Supermarkets are all about the profit- they don't want to lose a single penny from frost-killed plants!
