I think the most recent science on the matter suggests that we avoid such pruning. But hey, I could be wrong. I ain't a pro.

Lit up was out of line in what he said... But I cant follow what you are saying at all....
Call me prejudice against folks who do not take the time to type english as they were taught in grade school..... Sorry. I see a post like this I just pass it by, even if I have an answer for it. No one on the great big internet cares how hip, how hip hop, how street, ignorant, or retarded anyone is in real life or how many hard cases you pass or deal with daily. All we care about is the ability to read a post that is thought out, and posted to where you do not need a degree in thug-a-nomics for it to make sense to us.
Just my 2 cents....

Fan leaves are sugar/food factories to the rest of the plant...Don't cut these off...Tuck em under the growth they're blocking...I really liked the way you asked this question...
IOU rep...I rep'd out today because of ThanksGiving...

I read Lit Up's post to mean he'd bend and tye the top, so as to 'unshade' the lower portions of the plant. A sound technique, often used.
And...if there's any jealousy...likely it's from the newbie that's doing the loudest complaining and justifying.
Serpentine5: How is it that Lit Up stepped over the line?
