Are those mini grow pc case systems any good?

i emptied my old pc out
and put a light in it
and plan on gorwin some little plants
but i dont know
how to light them
so they dont get above 2 ft
and still bud?
any help?????

i'm gonna have to disagree at least in theory. you do some things with plants. LST and ScROG anyone. i've got a grow going that is a box not much bigger than a PC case (~26" tall). this is my first grow, so i can't comment on yield as of yet. but my plants are small and very bushy (LST). you can check the log in the sig. to check it out. i keep it updated regularly. i'm not trying to pimp my thread, but i'm just letting you guys know that there are some similarities that some might be interested in following.

on a different but same not, i will be building a PC case for someone (on these boards, that has been sworn to a grow log). it is to be built with stealth as the number one conern. someone linked to the mr. nice grow (or whatever his name is) on myspace that sells the PC setups for $300, so the challenge was to build one as good or better for less. the factors are:

-PC case that locks(obviously)
-digital therm/hydr.
-timer
-lighting (CFLs, 4x2700K, 4x6500K)
-cooling
-odor control (might be done by end user)
-adjustable screen (for ScROG)

i think that was it. it'll all be in good fun. maybe we can finally inject some facts into this debate.

anyone interested in doing a speaker cabinet?

what about using lowrider (w/LST or ScROG as well?) maybe something like lowryder #2 x AK47?

because yeild factors.

but i like the idea of the vertical lighting. what kind of light are you thinking about running for the vertical?

im picturing a small hps with a DIY cooltube, and 2 plants on each side. but i don't really know how much space a cooltube would take up.

i'd like to hear what you're plans are with this bad boy as you go along. hopefully some other more intelligent folks will chime in here and we might be able to help.

i was thinking about the vertical lights. a small HPS might work. i don't have much experience with them so i'd have to test it out. i definitely think that it could be a good approach though, with some tweaking of course!

more intellect would be nice. i mean everyone can't go big, so why not research how a good portion of the board probably grows.
