Hey,

I've been living in a tent in norcal redwood forest for about 7 months now. Granted, it is a small community of people that farm and raise animals and what not. Going solo seems a bit tougher. Butchering animals is tough, have you ever done it before? Not trying to put you down or anything but I didn't know how hard it was! You have to know your shit.

Anyway I like what Bos said about growing other food and animals. Chickens are really easy and they love the woods. Plus then you get eggs and meat. Also deer are heavy... We recently got one that was hit by a car but still alive and its legs were broken.. anyway it would probably be tough to move on your own.

There are lots of water purification systems you can buy if you have access to a river.

There really isn't anything like living in the woods off the land. It's def. a rewarding lifestyle. Hope you're not afraid of the creepy crawlies! Also I guess you need to be somewhere where you can make a fire to cook your meat, and fires can be dangerous in certain areas plus they give you away.

What about a tree house. I know a couple of dudes living in tree houses right now.

Anyway just some thoughts... I really like the idea!
