im assuming you would only want the organic certified if you were giving/selling to others.. i can probably speak for 99.876% of people who smoke weed that they could care less if you were "organic certified." because for 1, getting that certification is just going to end up costing them more money, and 2. im assuming government performs or leases out testing for organics so inviting them to your garden mmm probably not a smart idea.

Organic certification is done through the United Stated Department of Agriculture (a federal entity, btw). Actual certification is done by NOP: National Organic Program thru the USDA. And not even every state is able to be organicly certified.. In michigan its not even an option... yet.

But, if you do live in a state where the NOP has offices, and does do field testing, you obviously cant tell them you are going to grow pot.. So lets pretend you are growing tomatoes... lots of people do this, nothing unusual. They come out, test the soil, the water, the nutrients and so on.. You still arn't certified. It can take up to 3 years in some cases to be certified 100% organic. If your previous outdoor crop used chemical fertilizers, you will have to use a neutralizing agent in the soil to rid the chems from the earth.. THIS can take a while.. (years in some cases) Then the good people at NOP will drop by from time to time to do random soil tests, spot checks, ect. If all of the sudden your tomatoes turn into cannabis plants, being a federal agency, they will call in the DEA. Doesn't matter if the state mandated growing legal, federal agencies report to other federal agencies...

    You get the idea..

If you really want to let everyone know your crop is organic, just download the logo from the USDA website, and print in on the bag... people will get the idea..:smokin:

Money IS NOT my motivation in my small quest for knowlege. Should I assume that you are SPEAKING for people in your personal circle or should I assume that the other 99.876% is the entire world populous that has elected you as there speaker. I think Ill go with the first one.

I myself have a dream of starting a 100% free give away program. Limited to the ones who are in the last stages of LIFE its self.

You must be blind because I said 'GIVING/SELLING' to others, I didn't say you were cash cropping. I only made this assumption because you would only need the certification if it was for anyone BUT YOURSELF. GET IT? And really people who are dying or people who are healthy, it makes no difference. You find me ONE person who is interested in paying extra (BECAUSE LETS FACE IT, ORGANICALLY GROWN/FED PRODUCE COST MORE, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, for either the grower or the consumer... i mean you can take the deficit if you want, but most would pass it on to the customer becuase the producer is obviously taking the extra STEP becuase there is a MARKET for that specific product) and since there is no market for 'organically grown' weed, i assume nobody wants it. I think the catagories of weed are 'good, gooder, goodest' not 'organically certified, natural, extra fertilizer, no fertilizer.'

See I tried to help you and you just freaked out, buddy you gotta chill.

oh and im sure if it is a free give away program, people on there death bed or very ill arent going to smoke it and say "WHATS THIS SHIT, I TASTE CHEMICAL FERTILIZER WHEN I SAID ORGANIC, BITCH!" and throw it back at you

I think that's an admirable goal and I'm sure the recipients of your generosity wont mind if you aren't certified organic.

Probably better to save your money for grow supplies, the costs stack up a bit once you are producing compassionate plants/buds regularly.

Hypomaniac might worry more about getting his personality mellowed out, than worry about what he feeds his plants with ... I've never met the plant that can tell if it's nitrogen came from rotting garbage, or a bottle, anyway

vegetables grow better with more nutrients and taste better when organic so i see no reason why cannabis wouldnt also benefit

however i will say do not bother getting certified....its a waste and its just a ploy by the government to make it hard for small organic farms to become legit and have a chance of selling their stuff in well known stores (agribusiness lobbying FTL)

just continue to grow organically and if your patients have any hangups because youre not certified than invite them over and show them what your doing and build a trust up
