This is not correct. Youre also misinterpreting the criteria set for a "substituted" specimen. The creatinine and SG are checked together to determine "substituted".
And under that criteria...

A urine sample is ruled "substituted" (aka "not consistent with human urine") when the creatinine level is less than 2 mg/dL, while the specific gravity is less than, or equal to 1.0010; or greater than 1.0200

Samples with an SG between 1.0030 - 1.0200 are satisfactory.

Just another question...

I've been doing a practice run today. I started timing at 2:15. Between 2:15 and now, 4:00, I have drank nearly 2 Liters of water, a lot more than what is supposed to be required in the dilution sticky to begin voiding clear.

Only problem is, I'm still not pissing every 15-20 minutes, and it's still not clear.

Do I need to worry about over diluting if I have to keep drinking in order to void clear, as long as I follow the other rules for SG and creatinine?

So I just took a FirstCheck home test after diluting all day. It tested for 4 drugs.

Two lines means a pass, one means fail.

There were two very dark lines on the other 3 drugs indicating a clear pass. However, there was one solid line and one very faint line on THC. Although the line was faint, it was clearly there. In my honest opinion, according to the instructions, it was a pass.

According to the package diagram, a fainter line still means a pass. I'm just wondering if something like that would immediately stand out to them. The fact that the other 3 drugs lines are very solid and THC is very faint.

I have read on these forums that the faintness of the line doesn't have anything to do with "barely passing", etc.

It just seems odd that the only drug I have done is the one that is questionable on the home test.

If they saw something like this, could they do anything as long as the other line was there?

I'm just really worried now...as the cutoff for the test I just took was 50 ng/mL. The same as the test I'll have to take.

As long as your creatinine and SG levels are satisfactory, your sample will not be ruled "diluted". Color is hardly an aspect in determining a diluted sample because specimen validity checks are mandatory for all urine samples collected for a DOT drug test. And even samples with color to them can still fall below the acceptable ranges for creatinine and SG.

While doing your dilution practice runs, check your efforts by testing yourself with a validity test strip. That way you can "monitor" your creatinine and SG levels. Do a Google search for drug adulteration test kits.


A faint line still counts as a line. Even if an untrained tech misinterpreted a faint line and sent the sample off to the GC/MS for comfirmation, the sample will still come back as negative.

Well, it looks like I've bought myself a little time, anyway. We were normally off Thursday and Friday of next week for Thanksgiving, so I called my boss a bit ago and took vacation Monday - Wednesday of this week. :thumbsup:

I'm going to check into those validity tests, as well as order some more single THC strips online. Cheapest ones I can find are $20 at Wal-Mart...

Even if I get tested on Monday, that will be my 11th day clean. I imagine it's going to be much easier to dilute then, plus it will give me time to load up on creatine and run some more dilution tests.

If I'm really lucky, they'll forget about scheduling the physical the week of December 1st, also. The two weeks after that I'll be out of town and by that point, I'll be pissing clean naturally.

The cheapest place I found to find validity strips is at a place online by the name of "Test Symptoms At Home"....about $20 with shipping The cheapest place for thc strips is ebay....about $1.30 each with shipping. If ordered tomorrow you may be able to get them by Friday or Saturday (pending Thanksgiving). Since you bought more time, exercise until you are sweating and take it easy on the yummy fatty foods Thursday.
