Leaf Drooping Question

Hey Guys,

New grower here. Here's the 411 on my system and stats....

System: Bubbleponic
Medium: 2' Rockwool cubes (too big! was hoping my clones came in 1" cubes since the 2" cubes almost fill my plastic bubbleponic baskets) on top of a 1/2" bed of Hydroton balls with a few balls around the top edges. (i tried to trim the 2" rockwool cubes edges to fit my baskets better)
Light: 600w Mercury Hallide with Daystar Hyrdo Farm reflector
Vent: Squirrel fan at botton for blowing, 4" In take fan at top for suction directly attached to the light reflector. Another fan sitting wedged between the closet wall and the reservoir tub pointing straight up.
Temp: between 85-90 degrees at canopy level.
pH: 6.4

Problem: I bought my clones and put them in their new home only 4 days ago. They are 3-4" tall. The leaves are drooping down. 80% of all the leaves. There are new buds growing at the branch junctions but the edges of the old leaves are a little yellow.
I'm thinking heat stress and maybe overwatering stress.
I've raised the light to 18" above the canopy. It was lower but I tested it with my hand and it wasn't uncomfortable at the lower level.

Is this just the paranoia of a new papa or is this a valid concern?
I'll try to post the pic but if not, the leaves are drooping down not curling.

looks like transplant stress ... they need to build more roots right now, so scale back the lighting intensity a bit, and don't feed for a few days, she should perk up ... :jointsmile:

For how long?

Raise the light to 2'? 3'? from the canopy?

Are they already rooted or are you in that stage now? If trying to get roots the MH light might be a touch much atm. The yellowing could be the clones feeding off of themselves. I would cut back on how often the rockwool is being watered, mist the clones and put a dome on them. If you dont cut back on the rockwool being watered and dome them the rockwool will stay way to wet and rooting will either take forever or worst case they perish from to much water. I just went through this on my last grow and I'm glad I caught it in time but slowed down the whole process by about a week and a half.

no, don't unplug your pump, just cut back the nutrients in the solution ... if raising the lamp higher can cut the light intensity enough, you're fine ... if not, you may want to temporarily stick a smaller lamp in there (we're only talking about 4-5 days, anyway, by then, rooting should be established) ... :smokin:

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. I've raised the light up about 2' over the canopy.
The nutrients are already in the water. I've only feed them the 1st day.

Here's a few current pics. I'm liking the new white roots coming out of the baskets now.

Roots look real good. You got some good advice. They are stressed and will come back. Not tooo much nutes to start.

I'm more concerned about your temps they need to come down. What's the water temps ?? PH could come down but it's not bad.

Too much breeze in there now to try and help temps can cause the leaves to dry out untill they get over shock. Reason for dome. All in all I think your just getting over shock and you will be happy soon. Show us some pic's when they get better.
