New To Growing! HELP!
I am also new to growing. But i did get some seeds to germinate. I used a couple paper towels, clean water, and some surran wrap(sp?) but others use ziploc baggies.
dampen the paper towels and place the seeds an inch or 2 apart on the paper towel and cover it with another wet paper towel, and seal them up. Keep the seeds dark and warm. Mine broke shell in 2 days.
There are far better ways to do this, i just did it the old mans way.
Now i need some help to grow, i know mine probably wont grow at all, seeing as how im using normal soil from outside and tap water....i just dont have the money to invest right now.
But i'm in the same boat as you, and would like any help at all. What type of lights to use, soil to buy, fertilizer, minerals and nutrients. I Dont know where to go from here. I only want to grow 1 or 2 plants, and the cheapest way possible to get great smoke.
help plz?

I dunno about the ziplock thing ... just seeds in between two sheets of paper towels on a plate. Wet the plate, drain excess water off. Keep the paper towels moist ... 1-2x water per day seems to do it. Do not let it dry. When you see the little white sprout, put it in the soil, sprout down with some tweezers.
soil = potting soil

I thought it was sprout up? If you put sprout down it will grow back towards the top of the soil then shoot back down, so instead of expending extra energy from the seed, sprout up and it will grow downward the first time?

the first white sprout that comes out of the cracked shell is usually the taproot. it obviously grows down.

yes, i know, and if you place it facing up it will grow upward toward the air and before breaking surface it will grow downward. If you place the taproot facing down, it will grow back up towards the surface, then turn away and grow downward, which uses energy that can be saved from the seed. :thumbsup:Just stating what ive read on numerous growing sites while tryin to start my own.

Why not place it on it's side for safe measure? Give it some options. :greenthumb:

ha ha! whatever works. the plant is programmed for the taproot to grow down and the stalk to grow up. it doesn't matter which way you put it. taproot down makes more sense though, IMO.
