Is this possible (or only on Weeds)

I have some questions if this is even possible, or something like it.
Maybe I have watched to much "Weeds" but is is possible to make something similar to these two examples taken straight out of some "Weeds" episeodes.

The first picture is in boxes, kinda small and the plants look so small, is it possible to hold the plants small and still get to the flowering stage? And by doing this will the quality be bad or the same. (if this is even possible)

The second picture is in like a refrigerator, but is this just seedlings. Looks like it trough my eyes, I dont have so much experience with growing but.

And if these examples just are seedlings or whatever is there possible to make it to the flowering stage without getting thos huge massive beasts?

Hope some experts or something can help with this, want information badly.

The first picture is just clone trays. You could grow plants that small if you want. You can put plants into the flower stage any time you want. I've grown a batch that was only about a foot tall.
The second picture I don't know what that is. Can't make it out.

the second appears to be a vertical grow setup. they are possible. you need a light which can hang vertically though, i dont believe they all can do that.

If you read hightimes, they have an article about vertical grow set ups. But they are only good while the plants are still smaller. I hear that they have too many problems of plants bending and snapping. If you want some more info i found this website. highrisehydroponics.com they cost a ton but you might like it.

Killerweed420, I noticed that you said you once grew a batch only a foot tall?I was just wondering what your aprox yield per plant was?
