busted in AZ
So, I am a MMJ patient and have been for past 3 years. I currently live in Socal and I was driving into Souther AZ to visit family, but stopped by border checkpoint dogs on I-8. The border patrol dusches called the state troopers on me because they found a small amount of Hash. The officer whom escorted me to YUMA county Jail, in the back of a squad car handcuffed said he was going to be nice since I was being cooperative and charge me with only misdeneanor charges for the weed (.7 gram sour diesal), Misdeameanor charge for the pipes, but was taking me to jail for the SMALL amoint of hash! (.3 gram) narcotic? Felony? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? that was barely enough to have for two dosages. Wait a minute this gets worse!!!
So not only did I get a night in jail, i received a phone call from Yuma County appointed attorneys office and said the charges were dropped. I was relieved! The next day I called the county in which the offense took place just outside of Yuma and the new hire employee read the same thing to me off a computer screen. Charges dismissed.
Than, after the weekend my attorneys office said whoops. We made a mistake. The charges were sent to superior court and there are three felonys! ARE YOU FLIPPIN KIDDING ME? Now I have pending charges of three felonies for simply making a huge mistake and bringing a little tiny bit of medication with me across into AZ...

So, after six or seven round trips to Yuma. Trying to fight a three felony indictment, a yuma provided first year attorney that didn't know shit. I finnally got the idiot DA to give a misdemeanor pipe charge. 400 dollar fine plus 250 for crappy lawer fees. Now just a few weeks ago I filed the papers to dismiss the possesion of pipe mis.
Bottom line is lesson learned and AZ mmj laws SUCK
Peace
