plant wilting! ah :[

im growing in my closet with two twofoot floressents and two 40w screw in bulbs, just a fan blowing on it, its on a 20/24 light cycle...it was doing awesome before i transfered out of a cup yesterday into a full size pot and today it is wilting. with the the lower leaves beoming crunchy..could it be the PH or over fertalization? the one in the cup is right before i transplanted it into the second pic pot.

i just flushed it. i wont have money untill thurday to get a ph meter.

also idk if this helps but ive heard its better to use distilled watter instead of tap. i just flushed it out with tap water though

what kind of soil did you use? Whatever it was I'd probably NOT use it again.

It looks like massive overfert or pretty high ph just burned the plant up.....but almost too quick even for that......possibly a root rot or disease or so got ahold of your plant. But without being able to check ph you're not going to be able to do much.....Distilled or RO or whatever also has to be ph checked first....ANY water should be so you may as well stick with whatever you are using already water wise.

She looks pretty toasted, i'm sorry. If you've flushed her thoroughly and can't check ph then all you can do is wait and see.

ah. damn this sucks. alright. well i really hope this one pulls through but if not i have two more smaller ones. im not giving up hope yet! is there anything i can do to lower the PH asap??

I'm only guessing at the ph....that's why i like meters. Because your tap water worked for you so far (before you transplanted that is) I wouldn't change it until you know exactly what your ph is......or you'll only make the problem worse and you don't want to screw up your other ones do you?

You can even get cheap ph test strips or drops from your local pet store to test the ph....very cheap.....which will work fine. BUT you need to ADJUST ph with something MADE FOR PLANTS....not for fish.

Ph TESTERS for fish are ok. PH ADJUSTERS for fish are NOT ok for plants. Hope I made that clear.

Fill out the form. What food did you give that thing?
You can't use distilled water without adding CalMag Plus to it before use, up to 250ppm.

no actually ive been using distilled water for all three plants and they love it.
as for the big one. its long gone.

i pulled it this morning most of the leaves were gone.

no more of that soil. im glad i didnt plant all them in that soil! im going to buy a ph tester today i have some extra money.

Doesn't looked like they loved it that much. Or they did, but the water returned no such love.

ha i guess your right,

i went and bought a ph meter and surprisingly the soil i put the plant in was a little less than six.

however, since i grew it in a cup for a while it had good transplant soil and the PH of that was a little bit more than 6.


thats kinda wierd to me but im starting over with the other two plants and switching to tap water :]

If I were you I'd get them some air, put a circulation fan by them. My plants looked like that for a while with the dried dead leaves, you might want to get a spray bottle and fill it up with tap water and maybe a drop of nutrient and spray the plants once or twice a day so they are misted, but do not have beads of water on the, my plants are doing a lot better now.
