I had a 150 watt 8,000 lumen cfl, the u shaped tubes, and the attached ballast burnt out after 2 months. $60 for a new bulb. I personally think it is cheaper to use multiple small watt cfl's 6-23watt cfls=9600 lumens @138 watts need I say more?
jdsoil Reviewed by jdsoil on . more complicated questions, CFL's so i was searching around and found CFL's that i was wondering about. these are long CFL's (not the spirally ones, the ones that just have long 'u' shapped bulbs) with high power (125 watt at 2700 K(8500 lumens, $55), 125 watt at 6400 K(8500 lumens, 55$), and a 200 watt at 5000 K(12800 lumens, $85) now i already own 1 x 18w 6400k flourescent (its one of the bulbs that are like two connected to eachother at theyre ends) and 2x 27w 5500k bulbs (1300 lumens on these two, IDK the lumens on Rating: 5
