To me, sounds like they have a garage, punk-bluesy sound. At least that's my impression of it, I wonder why I haven't heard of these guys, I love the sound.

They have been around since 72, they draw inspiration from 60's surf music , old style rockabilly , a touch of punk and more than just a sprinkling of psychobilly.
They often have sexual references in thier songs such as "What's Inside a Girl" and "Can Your Pussy Do The Dog" , they are often off the wall with titles such as "Eyeball In MY Martini" , they also have a warped sense of humour that is shown in "All Women Are Bad" and "People Ain't No Good".

I grabbed the album Bad Music For Bad People (and saw the album cover was your old av!) and wow what an album. The lead singer has a deviant attitude on how he delivers the lyrics. I understand what your friend means now.
